The former municipality of Santo Tirso Plan, it was annexed in 1968 the terms of neighbors Tost, Arfa and the Parish of Horta to establish a new municipal entity that received the name of Bank of Urgellet. This new term of 104.9 km2 in the heart of the Alt Urgell and bounded on the north Montferrer Castellbò, NE with La Seu d'Urgell, and the east with Alàs Search and Lavansa and Fórnols , with the S and SW and Fígols Alinyà and W with the New de Segre.

The term includes, besides the village of Plan de Santo Tirso, head of the municipality, the people of Montana, Adrall, Arfa, the Torah and Parishes of Horta de Tost, houses and villages of the Borders Arfa, Castellar, the Freites, Hostalets of Tost and St. Peter Codinet and depopulated the Scaffold, grams, Nabiners, Tost, Sauvanyà, Fontelles and Coma of Nabiners, besides a large number of houses scattered around.

The Segre is the hydrographic axis of the municipality, although the number of gullies and streams is important, especially noteworthy that two years left to spill the Segre and form two major valleys: the river and the river Lavansa Tost . On either side of the river, the land and coastal plain, surrounded by farmland, but as we move away from river banks perpendicular, the terrain climbs and are the Sierra foothills Interiors.

The main communication axis is the C-1313, which remains parallel to the Segre.
